Patricia M Signa

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia M. Signa (nee Pecoraro), 92, of Chicago, Illinois. Patricia was the beloved wife of Anthony C. Signa for 47 years and the devoted mother of Michelle, Michael, Mark (LeslieAnn) and Andrew (Andrea) Signa. She was the cherished grandmother (“Nane”) of Melissa Signa, Marquelle (Thaddeus Jr.) Cnota, Anthony M. (Barbara) Signa, Kimberly (Jacob) Martin, Matthew J. (Lindsay) Signa, Andrew M. (Brittany) Signa, Megan and Matthew T. Signa. She was also a proud and loving great grandmother (“Nane”) of Ethan and Aston Martin; Charlie and Riley Signa; Joslyn Cnota; Gianna, Rocco, and Mia Signa; and Nolan and MacKenzie Signa; and a dear aunt to many nieces, nephews, and God-children. She was the loving sister to her brother Anthony F. Pecoraro. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents Michael and Josephine Pecoraro, her loving husband Anthony, her son Michael, her sister Mary Jane Pecoraro and her brother Leo Pecoraro. In life “Patricia/Pat/Patsy/Mom/Nane” enjoyed being surrounded by her family and friends preparing all the family favorites like “Nane’s Famous Pasta Sauce and Meatballs”; her “Pork Chops and Spanish Rice”; the lost legacy of her “Chop Suey” recipe; pasta with lentils or cauliflower or peas etc. etc.; and her “Pepper Steak”. She loved her summers at the Cottage; Signa Christmas celebrations; travels to Hawaii, Disney, and Italy; a lifetime of building many varieties of collectibles; the neighborhood Ladies’ Birthday Club outings; working at Winsberg’s/AC Uniforms; pizza night at The Spot; and a really well-prepared Pink Lady or Blue Hawaiian or a tall tasty Bloody Mary. A celebration of Patricia’s life is scheduled for Friday, October 18, 2024 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Barr Funeral Home, 6222 N. Broadway, Chicago. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 10:00 am at St Gertrude’s Catholic Church, 1420 W. Granville Avenue, Chicago. Interment will follow immediately after Mass at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum in Hillside, IL. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made online in memory of Patricia M.
