Princess Clara Awosika

Princess Clara Adewoyin Ọmọpintemi Awosika (Nee Adeniyi), 104, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 5th 2020, 9:30 pm at her home in Chicago surrounded by loved ones. She was born January 25, 1916 to the Royal family of Prince Michael Adediran Ọsunbolurin Adeniyi and Mrs. Rebecca Ọmọrotọla Adeniyi in Ilẹ-Oluji, Ondo State, Nigeria. She was the 4th born of five children. Clara met her handsome husband, Charles Ọlamoyẹgẹ Awosika in 1935 who was a tailor by trade. The two loved birds moved to Lagos and got married in 1940 where they raised 3 children. They then moved to Ondo in 1954 where they raised 2 more children. Clara was a woman of Faith and an Entrepreneur. She was a devout Christian. She traded several goods such as kolanuts, clothing, mats and goats from city to city (Ilẹ-Oluji, Ipetu-Ijẹsha, Ile-Ifẹ and Ibadan) with her feet as her mode of transportation. She had a passion for singing, dancing, praying, working out and taking walks. She was also known for being very generous and caring. Clara was preceded in death by her Parents, Prince Michael Adediran Ọsunbolurin Adeniyi and Mrs. Rebecca Ọmọrotọla Adeniyi, her Husband, Mr. Charles Ọlamoyẹgẹ Awosika and Daughter, Mrs. Victoria Ọlajumọke Mogbọnjubọla Ogunribido. Clara is survived by her Brother, Sister, Children, Grand-Children, Great Grand-Children, Cousins, Nephews and Nieces.
